In order to make optimal use of your aluminium cookware, we advise you to read the following tips:
- Cook on a burner that is similar in base diameter to the cookware you have selected.
- When cooking on a gas stove, adjust the flame so that it does not flare up the sides of the cookware.
- Use of a lid when cooking considerably reduces energy consumption.
- We recommend using oil or butter. Remember, some oils and fats burn at lower temperatures. Use oils and fats that have a high smoke point. If cooking with oil, add room temperature oil to preheated cookware.
- Do not use any type of oil sprays, including aerosols, mist and pump sprays. These sprays can cause residue build-up that is difficult to remove from all types of cookware.
- Allow the oil/butter to heat up in the cookware before adding food.
- Do not rush the preheating process by using excessive heat.
- Because of the excellent heat conductivity of your cookware, food and oil can carbonise very rapidly.
- Always cook on low to medium heat and only use high heat for boiling liquids. Use low heat to warm foods, simmer or prepare delicate sauces.
- Never overheat your cookware. When heated to above 260°C, the PTFE non-stick coating can start to deteriorate.
- Always put oil or butter in your pan before heating. Do not leave an empty pan on a hot burner or allow the pan to boil dry. This may damage the cookware finish.
- Always use your cookware at low to medium heat settings. High heat can damage the cookware finish.
- Never use metal utensils on a non-stick surface. Plastic, rubber or wooden utensils are recommended to protect your cookware’s non-stick finish.
- Do not cut foods in the cookware.
- When using halogen, ceramic and induction hobs, ensure that your hob and cookware are free from debris so as not to scratch the hob’s surface.
- Never shuffle or drag pans across the stovetop during cooking as this may cause scratching. Always lift the pan.
